This immersive Puerto Rico adventure centers around SanSe (San Sebastián Street Festival), the island’s largest cultural celebration, experienced in the heart of Old San Juan. Explore historic sites like El Morro while enjoying live music, traditional dances, art, and street festivities, all guided by a local Deaf guide who provides authentic cultural insight. The journey extends beyond San Juan to include Taíno heritage sites, caves, waterfalls, rainforests, and stunning coastal landscapes. Create meaningful connections with Puerto Rico’s Deaf community throughout the experience, including visits to Deaf-owned businesses and community gatherings. This Deaf-led journey offers an accessible, authentic way to experience Puerto Rico through a truly local lens.


Price for Puerto Rico is $3,600 USD per person based on two people sharing a room. An additional cost may apply for a solo room.

A non-refundable $500 USD deposit is required to reserve your space.

Full payment is due 90 days before the adventure start date.

Itinerary

Jan 15
Meet at our hotel at noon for a welcome and orientation. Eder Moon and Evento Señas will host an event, bringing Queso Joche to the local Deaf community. Stay in San Juan for 2 nights.

Jan 16
Embark on a walking tour of Old San Juan. Visit El Morro and explore colorful Spanish colonial buildings, cobblestone streets, and La Perla, the cultural heart of Puerto Rico.

Jan 17
Hop in a van and travel west to learn about Taíno culture. Visit Vega Baja’s Taíno Trail and enjoy time at the beach. View the Taíno stone walls, beaches in Quebradillas, and Isabela’s Taíno Face. Participate in a workshop at a Deaf-owned soap business. Stay in Isabela for 2 nights.

Jan 18
Visit Gozalandia Waterfall, then enjoy Crash Boat Beach, Ruinas del Faro (Lighthouse Ruins), and Survival Beach. Travel to Rincón for dinner with a sunset view. Return to Isabela.

Jan 19
Immerse yourself in Camuy Cave Park and Cueva Ventana. Continue to the Caguana Indigenous Ceremonial Park to learn about Taíno history, visit the Cañón Blanco River, and explore the Cemí Museum. Drive to Ponce and stay for 3 nights.

Jan 20
Morning visits to the Pink Salt Flats and Cabo Rojo Lighthouse. Explore Yaucromatic murals and Parque de Bombas (Fire Station Museum). Enjoy Ponce’s famous homemade ice cream. Visit Castillo Serrallés Mansion and Cruceta del Vigía. Evening visit to La Parguera Bioluminescent Bay (optional swimming).

Jan 21
Visit Guánica State Forest and Cayo Aurora. Experience the “chinchorreo” culture. Drive to San Juan and stay for 2 nights.

Jan 22
Travel to Río Grande to explore El Yunque National Forest. Enjoy an ATV/UTV off-road tour, then stop at Luquillo Kiosks for food. Return to San Juan and rest before the biggest festival of the year.

Jan 23
Start the morning at the San Sebastián Street Festival (SanSe 2027). Leave around 5:30 PM for dinner, then drive to Fajardo and stay for 1 night.

Jan 24
Enjoy boat and water activities in Fajardo. Afterward, drive through Piñones for local street food and shopping. Experience Bomba culture at El Imán in the evening. Return to San Juan and stay for 2 nights.

Jan 25
Hike Cerro Mime for approximately 1.5 hours. Enjoy brunch at a local café, followed by sightseeing in Orocovis. Dinner at La Sombra (Longanizas Doña María). Visit Toro Verde Adventure Park to ride The Monster Zipline, one of the longest ziplines in the world.

Jan 26
Breakfast together and farewell. Airport departure from San Juan.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that sometimes cancellations are unavoidable.

If you cancel at least 90 days before your adventure start date, we will refund you in full (minus the deposit). Cancellations less than 90 days before adventure start date cannot be refunded.

In the event that you need to cancel, please contact us as soon as you can.

Beyond its creative origins, Eder Moon is committed to providing cultural and adventure tours in Puerto Rico that are fully led in sign language. Their trips are guided by lived Deaf experiences and offer authentic access to Puerto Rico’s culture, history, and landscapes through a local Deaf lens. The tours emphasize meaningful cultural connection, Indigenous heritage, and engagement with the Deaf community on the island.
