This 14-day adventure in Croatia, Bosnia & Montenegro takes you to some of the most beautiful and historic places in the Balkans. You'll hike through the Plitvice Lakes National Park, visit the Old Town of Sarajevo, cross the Mostar Bridge, cruise on Kotor Bay, and explore the Black Mountains. This is the perfect adventure for travelers who want to experience the beauty of the Balkans while learning about the region's rich history with a team of experienced Deaf guides!
Price is $4,000 USD per person / double occupancy. A single supplement may apply.
A non-refundable $500 USD deposit is required to reserve your space.
Full payment is due 90 days before the adventure start date.
Day 1
Meet at Franjo Tuđman Zagreb International Airport (ZAG).
Day 2
Full-day tour of Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia, with a local Deaf guide.
Day 3
Travel south to visit the beautiful Plitvice Lakes National Park & spend the full day walking among thousands of mesmerizing waterfalls. Stay overnight in a nearby town.
Day 4
Drive 4 hours south to arrive at Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Spend the afternoon walking around the city with a local Deaf guide including a visit to the famous Stari Most (Old Bridge). Stay in Mostar 3 nights.
Day 5
Drive 2 hours to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Spend the day touring around the war-torn city and learn more about its role in the Yugoslavian War. Return to Mostar in the evening.
Day 6
Full-day tour of Herzegovina, visiting four major attractions in the region including a historical village, monastery, and the sparkling Kravica Waterfall.
Day 7
Head south to Kotor, Montenegro. Rest & walk around the old city. Optional sunset hike to the Kotor Fortress for a sweeping view of the bay. Stay in Kotor 3 nights.
Day 8
Dive into the Great Montenegro mountains with a full day tour of the Black Mountains, Tara Canyon, and Zabljak Lake.
Day 9
Spend the day on a leisurely cruise on the Bay of Kotor, with stops at the Blue Cave, old town of Perast, "Our Lady of the Rocks” island, and more.
Day 10
Drive south to Dubrovnik, Croatia & spend the afternoon walking among the city's fortified walls.
Day 11
Move north to Split, Croatia where we will visit Diocletian’s Palace. Free time in the evening to explore the bustling coastal city.
Day 12
Hop on a sailboat and go sailing along Croatia's coastline to visit five islands, including the famous Blue Cave on Bisevo Island.
Day 13
Head to Krka National Park to swim among the spectacular Krka waterfalls. Afterward, make our way back to Zagreb for our last night together.
Day 14
Transport to Franjo Tuđman Zagreb International Airport (ZAG) for your departure flight.

- Deaf Adventures has liability insurance that covers accidents and injuries that occur during our adventures ONLY within New Zealand. This does not cover any adventures overseas, or any personal travel cancellations, postponements, interruptions, or any medical expenses that are not caused by our adventures. For this reason, we highly encourage you to purchase travel insurance (e.g. World Nomads or Travelex).
We understand that sometimes cancellations are unavoidable.
If you cancel at least 90 days before your adventure start date, we will refund you in full (minus the deposit). If you cancel within 30 to 90 days before your adventure start date, we will refund 50% of your payment (minus the deposit). Cancellations less than 30 days before adventure start date cannot be refunded.

Rachel Soudakoff was born and raised in Los Angeles, California in a Deaf family. After traveling to more than 50 countries, she decided to make her favorite country – New Zealand – her home. She has four years of experience of managing and operating trips around the world in sign language. When she’s not traveling, she’s researching hidden gems at her next destination.
