This 15-day road trip from Brisbane to Cairns offers an unforgettable journey through some of Australia's most iconic destinations. Starting in Brisbane, you'll visit highlights such as the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Australia Zoo, and K'gari Island. Experience the unique wildlife at Cape Hillsborough, relax at Airlie Beach, and explore the stunning Whitsundays. Continue your adventure to Magnetic Island, Cairns, and the ancient Daintree Rainforest, culminating with a visit to the Great Barrier Reef and Wallaman Falls, Australia's tallest waterfall. This trip is perfect for those seeking a mix of natural beauty, wildlife encounters, and adventure along Australia's breathtaking east coast.

Price is $4,800 USD per person / double occupancy. A single supplement may apply.
A non-refundable $500 USD deposit is required to reserve your space.
Full payment is due 90 days before the adventure start date.
Day 1
Meet at Brisbane, Australia (BNE). Walk around the city centre and have dinner together.
Day 2
Visit Lone Pine Sanctuary and receive the opportunity to cuddle a koala. Afterwards, enjoy an afternoon sunset cruise on Brisbane River. Indulge in the Brisbane food scene for dinner.
Day 3
Travel north to Sunshine Coast and spend the full day at the Iriwn Family-owned Australia Zoo. Overnight in Sunshine Coast.
Day 4
Continue north to Noosa Heads and spend the morning exploring the coastal town. Optional hike on the Noosa Coastal Track with a high chance of spotting whales and dolphins. Continue onwards to Hervey Bay and embark on an afternoon whale-watching tour. Stay in Hervey Bay for two nights.
Day 5
Spend the full day touring K'gari Island, the world's largest island made of sand. Optional upgrade to rent your own 4X4 car for the day.
Day 6
Travel 5 hours north to Rockhampton, with a stop at Bundaberg to tour a factory producing Australia's world-famous Bundaberg Ginger Beer. Rest overnight in Rockhampton.
Day 7
Another long day on the road takes us to Cape Hillsborough, with a stop at the Eungella National Park for sightings of platypus. Overnight at a lodge near the beach.
Day 8
Wake up early to watch kangaroos being fed at sunrise. Hit the road to Airlie Beach, the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. Free time in the afternoon to walk around the town. Spend 2 nights in Airlie Beach.
Day 9
Full day exploring the Whitsundays Islands, home to some of the world's most beautiful beaches. Optional addition of a morning scenic flight.
Day 10
Drive 2 hours north to Townsville and hop on a 45-minute ferry to visit Magnetic Island. Afternoon wildlife tour with a local ranger. Return to Townsville for the night.
Day 11
Travel 5 hours north to Cairns, with a detour to Wallaman Falls, the tallest waterfall in Australia. Stay in Cairns for 4 nights.
Day 12
Full day exploring the Great Barrier Reef via a snorkeling tour. Optional upgrade to scuba diving available.
Day 13
Day trip to Port Douglas and Daintree Rainforest. Embark on a 1-hour wildlife cruise and get up close to wild crocodiles.
Day 14
Free day in Cairns to do shopping or sign up for an optional activitiy.
Day 15
Wrap up breakfast together. Then we drop you off at Cairns International Airport (CNS) for your departure flight.

- Deaf Adventures has liability insurance that covers accidents and injuries that occur during our adventures ONLY within New Zealand. This does not cover any adventures overseas, or any personal travel cancellations, postponements, interruptions, or any medical expenses that are not caused by our adventures. For this reason, we highly encourage you to purchase travel insurance (e.g. World Nomads or Travelex).
We understand that sometimes cancellations are unavoidable.
If you cancel at least 90 days before your adventure start date, we will refund you in full (minus the deposit). If you cancel within 30 to 90 days before your adventure start date, we will refund 50% of your payment (minus the deposit). Cancellations less than 30 days before adventure start date cannot be refunded.
In the event that you need to cancel, please contact us as soon as you can.

Rachel Soudakoff was born and raised in Los Angeles, California in a Deaf family. After traveling to more than 50 countries, she decided to make her favorite country – New Zealand – her home. She has four years of experience of managing and operating trips around the world in sign language. When she’s not traveling, she’s researching hidden gems at her next destination.
