Perfect for those attending the 2025 Deaflympics, our Heart of Japan 10-day tour kicks off the morning after the closing ceremony, and showcases Japan's highlights from a Deaf cultural perspective, starting in Tokyo with its iconic landmarks and cultural experiences. Visit Fuji/Hakone for Mount Fuji views and hot springs, explore Kyoto's temples and bamboo groves, discover Nagoya's rich history, and conclude in Kanazawa, known for its samurai districts and stunning gardens.
Extend your journey with an optional 7-day Southern Japan tour, visiting Kagoshima, Yakushima, Kumamoto, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, and Beppu, blending natural beauty, history, and relaxation. Led by a Deaf Japanese guide, this tour ensures a culturally immersive and accessible experience.
Price for Heart of Japan (10 days) is $3,400 USD per person/double occupancy. Price for Heart of Japan + Southern Japan Extension (17 days) is $5,600 USD per person/double occupancy. A single supplement may apply to either sections.
A non-refundable $500 USD deposit is required to reserve your space.
Full payment is due 90 days before the adventure start date.

Meet in Tokyo, and check into a Deaf-friendly hotel. Visit a Deaf-owned shop. Attend a Deaf Professional Happy Hour (DPHH) in Shibuya.
November 28
Explore Tokyo Skytree and Tokyo National Museum. Tour Meisei Gakuen, Japan's bilingual-bicultural Deaf school. Visit Yagi Michio Art Gallery. Dinner at a Deaf-owned restaurant and experience nightlife in Ginza.
November 29
Tour Tsukiji Outer Market. Indulge in desserts at Memekashi, Yokohama. Check into a Deaf-friendly ryokan with a traditional dinner and onsen experience.
November 30
Take the Shinkansen to Mount Fuji. Visit Hakone Shrine, Lake Ashi, and the Open-Air Museum. Travel to Osaka in the evening for an overnight stay.
December 1
Morning walk at Shinsaibashi-suji Street and visit Osaka Castle. Explore Fushimi Inari Taisha and Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto.
December 2
Visit Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and Tenryu-ji Temple in the morning. Tour the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji) and Nishiki Market in the afternoon.
December 3
Explore Echigo Hillside Park and engage with Nagaoka's Deaf community. Travel to Kanazawa for an overnight stay.
December 4
Tour Kanazawa Castle and Kenroku-en Garden. Visit Mitsui Tamekichi for Kutaniyaki art.
December 5
Explore Eiheiji Temple. Visit Fukushima Nobuhiko for a ceramic art tour. Travel to Nagano in the evening.
December 6
Check into P&O Lodge, Nagano. Choose between winter activities at Hakuba Valley or visiting Jigokudani Monkey Park. Return to Tokyo or continue onwards for the Southern Japan extension.

December 7
Fly to Kagoshima and visit a Deaf-owned café. Explore Sengan-en Garden. Stay overnight at a Deaf-owned farm.
December 8
Visit Shiratani Unsuikyo Ravine and return to Kagoshima. Travel to Kumamoto and visit Vanilla Beans pastry shop.
December 9
Tour Kumamoto Castle and Suizenji Jojuen Garden. Take the Shinkansen to Fukuoka for an overnight stay.
December 10
Visit Ohori Park, Kushida Shrine, and Canal City. Dinner at a Deaf-friendly izakaya, and socialize with the local Deaf community.
December 11
Tour Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park and Museum. Visit Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island. Return to Fukuoka.
December 12
Spend the morning in Beppu for hot springs and arts. Fly back to Tokyo in the evening.
December 13
Depart Japan with unforgettable memories.

This does not cover any adventures outside South Korea, or any personal travel cancellations, postponements, interruptions, or any medical expenses that are not caused by our adventures. For this reason, we highly encourage you to purchase travel insurance (e.g. World Nomads or Travelex).
We understand that sometimes cancellations are unavoidable.
If you cancel at least 90 days before your adventure start date, we will refund you in full (minus the deposit). If you cancel within 30 to 90 days before your adventure start date, we will refund 50% of your payment (minus the deposit). Cancellations less than 30 days before adventure start date cannot be refunded.
