Perfect for those attending the 2025 Deaflympics, our Heart of Japan 10-day tour kicks off the morning after the closing ceremony, and showcases Japan's highlights from a Deaf cultural perspective, starting in Tokyo with its iconic landmarks and cultural experiences. Visit Fuji/Hakone for Mount Fuji views and hot springs, explore Kyoto's temples and bamboo groves, discover Nagoya's rich history, and conclude in Kanazawa, known for its samurai districts and stunning gardens.
Extend your journey with an optional 7-day Southern Japan tour, visiting Kagoshima, Yakushima, Kumamoto, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, and Beppu, blending natural beauty, history, and relaxation. Led by a Deaf Japanese guide, this tour ensures a culturally immersive and accessible experience.
Price for Heart of Japan (10 days) is $3,400 USD per person/double occupancy. Price for Southern Japan Extension (7 days) is $2,200 USD per person/double occupancy. Price for Heart of Japan + Southern Japan Extension (17 days) is $5,600 USD per person/double occupancy. A single supplement may apply to either sections.
A non-refundable $500 USD deposit is required to reserve your space.
Full payment is due 90 days before the adventure start date.












November 27
Meet in Tokyo. Brief introduction to Japan and JSL. Check in our hotel and go sightseeing. Dinner at a Deaf-owned restaurant. Stay in Tokyo for four nights.
November 28
Morning tour of Omotesando. After lunch, explore Harajuku. In the evening, engage with Tokyo’s Deaf community at a local Deaf event.
November 29
Visit Tokyo Skytree, Japan’s tallest building. Go sightseeing at Asakusa and visit Kaminarimon Gate. Afternoon visit to Ueno and Ameyoko. Evening at Deaf SELF Bar.
November 30
Day trip to Hakone via a private shuttle. Visit Owakudani and try their famous black eggs. Cruise on Lake Ashi on a pirate ship with views of Mt. Fuji. Check out the Hakone Shrine. Return to Tokyo.
December 1
Ride the Shinkansen to Karuizawa. After lunch, travel to Kusatsu, Japan’s hot springs capital to experience the traditional Yumomi Show. Stay overnight in Kusatsu.
December 2
Morning sightseeing in Nagano via private bus, visiting Onioshidashi, Shiraito Waterfalls, and Kyukaruizawa Ginza Street. After lunch, take the Shinkansen to Kanazawa. Check into our hotel and rest. Stay two nights.
December 3
Full-day sightseeing tour of Kanazawa. Check out the markets, visit Ninja Temple, and walk through the Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan’s most stunning landscape gardens. Free time in the afternoon to explore the city and try its famous gold leaf treats.
December 4
Shinkansen to Osaka. Visit Shojo Cafe, a Deaf-friendly spot, and Namba Shrine. Afternoon sightseeing at Shinsekai. Dinner in Dotonbori. Stay in Osaka 2 nights.
December 5
Ride the Shinkansen to Kyoto. Visit Fushimi Inari and Kiyomizu-dera Temples. Enjoy free time in historic Gion before a group dinner and returning to Osaka. OPTIONAL: Rent or purchase a Kimono to wear for the day in historic Kyoto.
December 6
Morning Shinkansen ride to Nara. Meet the friendly deer at Nara Park and visit Todai-ji Temple. Those continuing to Southern Japan take a 2-hour Shinkansen to Hiroshima, while others return to Tokyo via a 3-hour Shinkansen.

December 7
Full-day exploring Hiroshima. Visit the profound Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and Peace Memorial Park. Enjoy Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki at a Deaf-friendly restaurant.
December 8
Morning trip to picturesque Miyajima Island, home to the famous floating Torii Gate. After lunch, take the Shinkansen to Beppu, Japan’s hot spring capital. Stay overnight in Beppu.
December 9
Morning tour of Beppu Onsen. Afterwards, enjoy free time to soak in the hot springs or explore the Beppu Station area. Wrap up the day with your last Shinkansen to Hakata. Stay in Hakata 3 nights.
December 10
Visit the historic Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. Enjoy free time to shop at Canal City, then explore Nakasu’s dazzling nightlife along the river.
December 11
See the world’s largest reclining Buddha at Nanzoin Temple. Visit Fukuoka City Museum and admire the views from Fukuoka Tower. Wrap up the day at Hakata Ramen Street.
December 12
Fly from Fukuoka to Tokyo. Enjoy free time for last-minute shopping in futuristic Odaiba. End the trip with a farewell dinner on a Yakatabune boat, cruising Tokyo Bay.
December 13
Depart Japan with unforgettable memories.

We understand that sometimes cancellations are unavoidable.
If you cancel at least 90 days before your adventure start date, we will refund you in full (minus the deposit). If you cancel within 30 to 90 days before your adventure start date, we will refund 50% of your payment (minus the deposit). Cancellations less than 30 days before adventure start date cannot be refunded.
