Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Route 66 on this unforgettable journey from Chicago to Los Angeles! Led by an experienced local Deaf guide fluent in ASL, NZSL, and IS, this tour offers full accessibility and engaging experiences at every stop. Travel the iconic “Mother Road,” exploring historic diners, neon signs, murals, and landmarks like the Gateway Arch, Meramec Caverns, Cadillac Ranch, and the Santa Monica Pier. Enjoy classic Route 66 cuisine, visit quirky roadside attractions, and soak in the landscapes of Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. A truly accessible, once-in-a-lifetime adventure celebrating America’s most famous highway.
Price is $3,900 USD per person based on two people sharing a room. An additional cost may apply for a solo room.

Meet at our hotel in Chicago and enjoy a welcome dinner at one of the city’s famous pizzerias. Stay in Chicago 2 nights.
9 October
Full day exploring Chicago’s highlights, including the Willis Tower Skydeck, Millennium Park, and Navy Pier.
10 October
Bid Chicago farewell and drive through Joliet, Pontiac, and Lincoln along historic Route 66. Visit Abraham Lincoln’s Home and Tomb in Springfield. Overnight in Springfield.
11 October
Follow the historic brick road in Auburn and stop for lunch at the oldest running restaurant on Route 66. Cross the Mississippi River and ride the tram to the top of the Gateway Arch. Overnight in St. Louis.
12 October
Drive through the Ozarks and tour Meramec Caverns. Stop at Uranus Fudge Factory for a fun treat and savor delicious Missouri hickory BBQ, then continue to Springfield, MO, the birthplace of Route 66. Overnight in Springfield.
13 October
Travel across Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma, stopping at iconic Route 66 landmarks along the way. Arrive in Oklahoma City and stay overnight at a beautifully restored hotel that was formerly a Ford manufacturing site.
14 October
Cross into Texas and visit the famous Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo. Stop at the Route 66 Museum in Clinton along the way. Enjoy a classic Texan steak dinner. Overnight in Amarillo.
15 October
Stop at the Route 66 Midpoint in Adrian, then explore Tucumcari’s murals, Route 66 Monument, and Tee Pee Curios. Overnight at a classic Route 66 motel with an evening tour to see the town’s remaining neon lights.
16 October
Visit the Route 66 Auto Museum in Santa Rosa. Spend the afternoon walking among historic clay buildings in Santa Fe. Continue to Albuquerque for the night.
17 October
Start the morning with a ride on the Sandia Peak Tramway for panoramic views, then drive west across New Mexico’s high desert. Cross into Arizona and stay overnight in a classic Wigwam motel in Holbrook.
18 October
Visit Winslow’s “Standin’ on the Corner” park and historic Seligman. Continue along one of the most preserved stretches of Route 66 to Kingman. Overnight in Kingman.
19 October
Drive through the Mojave Desert and California’s final section of Route 66. End your journey at the Santa Monica Pier, the official western terminus of Route 66. Stay in Los Angeles 2 nights.
20 October
Enjoy a full-day tour of Los Angeles, including Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Venice Beach.
21 October
Enjoy a farewell breakfast before being dropped off at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for your departure.

- Deaf Adventures has liability insurance that covers accidents and injuries that occur during our adventures ONLY within New Zealand. This does not cover any adventures overseas, or any personal travel cancellations, postponements, interruptions, or any medical expenses that are not caused by our adventures. For this reason, we highly encourage you to purchase travel insurance (e.g. World Nomads or Travelex).
We understand that sometimes cancellations are unavoidable.
If you cancel at least 90 days before your adventure start date, we will refund you in full (minus the deposit). Cancellations less than 90 days before adventure start date cannot be refunded.
